Brunella Torpoco: These are the death threats that led her to give up her music career

Criminals on board a linear motorcycle shot outside his mother's house, leaving frightening messages on her escape.

At just 23 years old, Brunella Torpoco has become one of the most beloved salsa boats due to its proximity to the public. However, despite her great talent, the national singer will not return to the stage due to a series of death threats received by her mother while she was on tour in the United States.

In conversation with Prensa Callao, Brunella Torpoco's father told details of the attack that occurred in her home, located in Chacaritas, Callao. According to his statements, criminals on board a linear motorcycle fired on the outskirts of his house. Although she didn't want to tell her daughter at first, eventually the salsa boat ended up learning what happened.

“I don't know how (your daughter) found out and called me. As my mommy says, I am her mother and I have already lived and enjoyed. I don't have fear of death (...) For those who want easy money, they are going to have to kill me, said Torpoco's mother, who was later consulted by Magaly Medina's cameras about the attack, but preferred not to give any further statements for fear of reprisals.

What the program Magaly TV La Firme did manage to achieve are the death threats that Torpoco's mother found at the door of her home, where criminals warn the gravy boat that she will be attacked as soon as she returns from the United States. Her mother would also suffer the same fate if she refused to pay the quotas.

“Brunella, you were saved in the first. This is one more warning. When you return from the USA you will not be saved” and “Brunella pe***, the third one your mother's p*** dies”, were the messages that, unfortunately, ended up frightening the salsa singer.

IT'S NOT THE FIRST ATTACK

In November 2021, when she returned from a European tour, Brunella Torpoco suffered an attack on her doorstep, in La Perla, Callao. A motorized man fired 5 times in the air and twice at his car as a kind of warning.

The Peruvian National Police (PNP) warned that the attack on the salsa boat would be a warning message from a gang of extortionists. According to information provided by the Criminal Investigation Department of Bellavista to El Comercio, the criminals have tried to intimidate the singer to frighten her and then demand the payment of quotas.

A first attack against the salsa boat occurred in November 2021.

A second attack occurred during a salsa concert in La Victoria, in February 2022. Magaly Medina's program reported that the national artist was singing her best hits when suddenly a fierce shooting began.

According to initial reports, excessive alcohol at the event prompted hostility between two enemy sides in the area. Attendees and residents recorded the minutes of panic and concern over the crossfire.

Although there were no injuries to regret, the young interpreter was more than concerned that she did not know the reasons for the incident. However, an officer in charge of the case suspected that it would be a criminal organization of extortionists because of the modus operandi.

'MAGPIE' STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH BRUNELLA

Magaly Medina read the official statement by Brunella Torpoco and regretted that the salsa boat decided to give up her musical career due to death threats she has received for part of mafias that charge quotas.

“She is working, this girl is not stealing from anyone, however, these mafia bands ask you for a place so that you can sing and if they see you succeed they ask you for a place because you are succeeding. Tell me why a working woman would have to pay a quota to these criminals,” she said at the beginning.

“I don't know how they can do this to someone crazy, she's from there, her family is from there (...) We believe that this little girl gave a lot more, her success is about to work, she doesn't owe anything to anyone,” he added.
