(ATR) IOC president Thomas Bach made a stop at Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday.

The IOC president traveled to Glendale, Arizona withIOC member Alex Gilady, U.S. Olympic Committee chairman Larry Probst and Rio 2016 president Carlos Nuzman to speak with NBC executives and watch the championship match between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots on Feb. 1. He also gave an on-air interview with NBC Olympic host Bob Costas.

It was the first American football game Bach had ever watched in person.

The Super Bowl is just part of Bach's visit to the United States. He opened his trip on Jan. 31 by meeting with former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

In the coming days, he plans to attend part of theFIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek, Colorado. On Tuesday,Around the Rings editor Ed Hula will be in Colorado Springs to cover Bach's visit to United States Olympic Committee headquarters.
