Teamwork - Leadership - Sportsmanship - Determination - Respect - Courage

The above words are more than just ideals or values - they offer the keys to success in life. With our Playmakers Program, we empower youth to learn and incorporate these values into their daily lives.

Twenty-nine youth from Oregon joined us at the United States Olympic Committee's Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for our Playmakers Program. Over the course of four action-packed days, the youth went beyond their comfort zones to explore the world of sport and its power to change lives.

Doping in Sport: How the Culture Might Change

Next Thursday, April 13th, The Foundation for Global Sports Development will host a day-long symposium in Malibu, California on the topic of doping in sport, which will include discussions about doping at Rio 2016.

Sir Philip Craven, President of the International Paralympic Committee, will provide the keynote presentation, which will likely include insight into his decision this past summer to ban Russian athletes from participating in the Paralympic Games.

Following Sir Philip's speech, two panels comprised of sports attorneys, journalists, anti-doping regulators, athletes, and team executives will discuss the recent research on doping and explore the practical, political, legal, and ethical concerns around doping.

This symposium is free of charge, but advanced registration is required. For the full schedule and to register, please visit here.

The symposium, which will be held at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, is also supported by Sheppard, Mullin, Richter, and Hampton, LLP, and Pepperdine University School of Law.

This symposium is approved for 4 hours of MCLE credit with payment of a $50 fee.

CESEP Artwork in Colorado Springs

While in Colorado Springs for our Playmakers Program, we had the opportunity to visit the historic Antlers Hotel. Since October 2016 the hotel has featured several pieces of our CESEP artwork. Youth from around the world created this artwork as part of a sportsmanship and sport culture curriculum.

We are delighted the hotel shares this artwork with their guests, and we hope those who visit the fitness center enjoy the art pieces.
