Hogwarts Legacy confirmed good news for players: it will not include microtransactions

After presenting their gameplay, some fragments of the video had raised doubts in the gaming community

Yesterday, a new State of Play was held and this time it focused on Hogwarts Legacy, the game located within the Harry Potter universe, but which will move players to the school of magic at the end of the 19th century. The presentation, in addition to giving voice to some of the people behind the creation of the title, showed a gameplay of more than 14 minutes that anticipated many details of this upcoming release.

However, some specific aspects generated doubts among players, given the possibility of them translating into microtransactions within the game, an element that is not usually well received.

During the presentation, it became known that users will have the ability to create and improve some objects that will be able to translate into advantages when it comes to fighting, such as potions or plants with special characteristics. But it was also noted that it will be necessary to wait a few minutes for this process of creation (or growth, in the case of plants) to be completed.

This situation led many players to think that they will have to pay (with real money) to speed up this process, a very common practice in video games. However, that option has already been closed.

Through his Twitter account, Chandler Wood -Avalanche's community manager- clarified, in part, the issue. “We have seen this question arise and we want to make things clear. There are no microtransactions in Hogwarts Legacy,” he said.

One user promptly asked about the decision to set a deadline for, for example, the creation of a potion to be completed and responded to him with the initial tweet, so it is a point that, probably, a little more will be known in the coming months through further advances or communications.

In addition, it was confirmed - through the new icon that appeared on the official website - that the game will also be released on Nintendo Switch, a detail that had not been known before. Therefore, when it launches at the end of the year (as anticipated in the presentation), Hogwarts Legacy will arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and, now, Nintendo Switch.
