Atos’ new contract will run through the 2024 Olympics. The French IT company has been providing services for the IOC since 1989.

The firm said it won the contract after the IOC completed a "competitive bidding process."

"The IOC wanted a company that can best serve the ideals and interests of the Olympic Movement, both from an economic standpoint and by embracing new technologies to ensure the smooth and efficient organization of the Olympic Games," Atos said in a statement.

Atos’ TOP Sponsorship agreement with the IOC is set to expire after the 2016 Summer Olympics.
