Last Monday, April 18, the US Embassy in Mexico issued a new restraining measure for US government employees.

In addition, the same document states that although air travel may be carried out, travel by land cannot be made.

This, the embassy explains, because Zacatecas has “experienced violent territorial battles between cartels.” Added to this is the homicide rate, since, according to the data recovered by the institution in 2021, it was more than double compared to the rate in 2020.

At the same time, it is noted that Americans and their peers lawful permanent residents have been victims of kidnapping.

The actions recommended by the US government are:

-Be careful with the environment

-Monitor local media for updates on the entity's situation

-In case of emergency call 911

-Violence in Zacatecas
