Debanhi Escobar has been missing since April 9 after attending a party with a group of friends in the municipality of Escobedo in Nuevo León. So far little is known about the investigation carried out by the Attorney General's Office (FGE), despite the fact that his father said that the regional governor Samuel García has been keeping an eye on his progress.
In view of this, authorities in Nuevo León reported that the prosecutors offices of Tamaulipas, Durango and Baja California joined the search for the 18-year-old girl. In addition, on Tuesday, April 12, the FGE of the entity where Debanhi disappeared, arrested Jesús “N”, who is probably related to the case.
The 46-year-old man, who has been identified by several people as a stalker who has tried to take several women, was arrested 40 kilometers from the city of Monterrey, in the Los Pilares neighborhood.
However, he is not the only one involved, as Debanhi's escorts have also caused controversy in the case because they were the last people the 18-year-old girl was with. Ivonne, Alejandra and Jessari assured that Escobar Bazaldua had behaved aggressively, so they left before the meeting.
They also pointed out that this was one of the consequences of why they decided to send a “trusted” driver to transfer her to her home, but this was no longer done. At 5:00 a.m. on April 9, Debanhi was last seen on a riverside on the road to Laredo.
An image of Debanhi circulated through social networks in the middle of the road, the girl wore a long skirt, a white top and black tennis shoes. As stated by the family, the photograph was taken by the driver that her friends had sent her.
It should be noted that in recent days, the Instagram user identified as @nsml_stephanie pointed out that several people approached the 18-year-old girl in order to help her and that she arrived safely home, but they were not lucky because Debanhi's friends said they had a “trusted” person for her transfer.
Mario Escobar, father of the missing girl, commented that since his daughter's case went viral on networks, he has received extortion calls asking him for money in exchange for Debanhi's whereabouts.
“Don't be messing with me. My wife and I want our daughter back, because it's a long time. Tell people that they are hurting us, that they are mocking us, that God bless them,” said Mario Escobar.
Despite the bad times that have happened as a result of these calls, Mario Escobar said he was hopeful to find Debanhi alive, because according to his statements, “social networks move mountains”.
For her part, Dolores Bazaldúa, mother of the young woman, thanked all those who have been responsible for disseminating information about the clothes and the place where Debanhi was last seen.
“I thank all the people who are supporting us, the government that is helping us because right now they are doing their thing. To all the mothers who have lost their daughters and who don't know anything about them, I understand them, now I feel that pain they felt,” said Dolores Bazaldúa.
