For the second time, the former secretary of the presidency of Pedro Castillo, Bruno Pacheco, missed the summons of the Prosecutor for Money Laundering, where he must answer for alleged irregular negotiations and the statements of Karelim López on the existence of an alleged palatial mafia.

Prosecutor Luz Taquire waited for more than an hour for Pacheco and, knowing that she will not attend the summons, she drew up a statement of incurrence, as she did last Monday, March 14.

This new absence of the former secretary of Palacio de Gobierno will be considered as an obstruction to investigations and may support a possible request for preventive detention against him.

Karelim López told prosecutor Taquire that within the Ministry of Transport there is “a mafia” that distributes public works and that would be made up of Pedro Castillo, Pacheco and businessman Zamir Villaverde.

EFFECTIVE COLLABORATOR?

A few weeks ago, through a video, Bruno Pacheco said he is willing to “collaborate with justice and truth.”

“I fear for my life and for my integrity,” he says at the beginning of the clip, which is posted with the following message: “The pillar of justice is the right to the presumption of my innocence. My collaboration with justice will always be with the truth.”

In addition, he stated that “his hand will not tremble to point out whether someone is guilty or innocent” and that like every human being, he reached his “limit”.

“I want to address the authorities and the people in general to say the following: I am willing to collaborate with justice and tell the truth in all the cases that are linked to me,” he said.

“Rest assured, if someone is guilty or innocent, I will say so, but that will be before a judge or a prosecutor. I also believe that a human being has his limit and I came to mine. That is why, without fear of being wrong, he affirmed that my hand will not shake in pointing out guilty or innocent people in the only commitment I have to the defense of the people of Peru,” he continued.

However, since that time he has ignored the subpoenas of the Office of the Prosecutor of the Nation.

Bruno Pacheco faces complaints and accusations such as the scandal of interference in the promotion process of the Armed Forces, denounced by retired Army General José Vizcarra Álvarez.

The Anti-Corruption Procurator's Office criminally denounced him for the alleged crime against the Public Administration, in the form of trading in influence, also in the case of promotions in the Armed Forces.

Bruno Pacheco was also accused of trying to ask for favors from Luis Enrique Vera Castillo, National Superintendent of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), for companies around him that presented debts.

In this case, the Office of the Public Prosecutor Specialized in Crimes of Corruption reported to the General Secretary to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
