(ATR) The world's leading women in sport and female diplomats are set to convene in Helsinki.
IOC president Thomas Bach, UNESCO director general Irina Bokova, International Softball Federation secretary general Beng Choo Low, and IOC athlete's commission chair Claudia Bokel are among the speakers of the World Conference on Women and Sport, which is scheduled to take place June 12-15.
Some 800 delegates from 100 countries are expected to attend the conference, which takes place in Helsinki's Finlandia Hall.
Discussions will take place on a variety of topics related to the role of women in sport to gender equity.
The conference will be live streamed here, and suggestions and comments can be submitted via Twitter using the hashtag #IWGhelsinki or SMS: +358 45 7395 0791.
UNESCO is patronizing the event, which is organized by the International Working Group on Women and Sport. This is the sixth edition and 20th anniversary of the World Conference on Women and Sport.
Botswana will host the conference in 2018. By tradition, the IWG secretariat moves with the conference, and will call the African country home for the next four years.
