(ATR) Just aday before the vote on a 2022 Olympic host, Around the Rings editor Ed Hula says thatthe feeling at the 128th IOC Session is muted.

The IOC Session is underway in Kuala Lumpur, a meeting that will elect the city that will host the 2022 Winter Olympics and 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

Almaty, Kazakhstan and Beijing, China are the only two cities vying to host the 2022 Games. Brasov, Romania andLausanne, Switzerland are bidding to host the 2020 Winter YOG.

Last month, delegations from Almaty and Beijing delivered key presentations to the IOC.The so-called technical briefing gaveAlmaty 2022 and Beijing 2022 a chance to explain how they plan to stage the Games, as well as for IOC members to ask questions to the candidates.

The vote on a 2022 host comes late Friday afternoon in the Malaysian capital and will be followed by three more days of meetings by the nearly 100 members of the IOC.
