TORONTO (September 30, 2010) – Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium announced today that Nathalie Cook has been appointed Vice-President of Marketing and Partnerships for the Consortium’s coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Reporting to Dan Cimoroni, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Cook will serve as a key member of the Consortium’s senior leadership team. Previously, Cook was Director of Partnerships for the Consortium, which delivered revolutionary multiplatform coverage and consumer choice of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Cook assumes the responsibilities of Adam Ashton, former Vice-President of Marketing, who was named President of the Consortium last month.

"Nathalie’s experience and passion for the Olympic Games shines through in all that she does. She is both a team player and born leader, whose ideas and foresight push limits to achieve maximum results in the best interest of her clients and partners," said Ashton.

In this key role, Cook will lead and manage the various relationships and marketing-related activities across a broad spectrum of partners, including sponsor servicing and fulfillment, Olympic Games relations in which Cook will manage the marketing dialogue with the IOC, LOCOG, COC and National Sports Organizations, and partner marketing and promotions. Cook will work closely with the CTV Creative Agency to continue integrating and leveraging Olympic Games messaging across the Consortium’s suite of assets, with a focus on brand management and creative activations.

"Having worked in amateur sports for the majority of my career, I truly believe in the spirit and goodwill of the Olympic Games on a global level and am proud to contribute to its legacy," said Cook. "Vancouver 2010 was a watershed moment in the media industry and I look forward to working with much of the same team at the Consortium and continuing the momentum for London 2012."

Prior to joining the Consortium, Cook worked at a variety of leading corporations in the sports and music industries, including Special Olympics Canada and IMG, where for 12 years, she guided the careers of many of Canada’s top Olympic Games athletes and led the corporate consulting division. Fully bilingual, Cook has worked on five previous Olympic Games, as both an executive and volunteer with the Canadian Olympic Committee. London 2012 marks Cook’s sixth Olympic Games.

Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium is a unique relationship led by Canada’s #1 broadcaster, CTV Inc. with 80% interest, along with Rogers Media Inc. with 20% interest. The Consortium provided unprecedented coverage and consumer choice in English, French and multi-languages on multiple platforms for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Vancouver 2010 coverage was recently nominated for 17 Gemini Awards, more than any other program. Official brands included CTV, TSN, RDS, RIS Info Sports, Rogers Sportsnet, OMNI, OLN, V, APTN, ATN, CTVOlympics.ca, RDSolympiques.ca, The Globe and Mail, Corus Québec and select Rogers radio stations across the country. The Consortium will also produce the London 2012 Games of the Olympiad, July 27 to August 12, 2012.
