BWF to Name Major Events' Hosts

The Badminton World Federation will announce the hosts for its 2018 and 2019 Major Events this Saturday, following six bid presentations by the delegations from the candidate cities.

The Badminton World Federation will announce the hosts for its 2018 and 2019 Major Events this Saturday, following six bid presentations by the delegations from the candidate cities.

Capital cities, Bangkok (Thailand) and Delhi (India), are vying to stage next year’s TOTAL BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals while Nanjing in China is bidding to stage the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2018.

Meanwhile, another Chinese city – Naning – is seeking to host the TOTAL BWF Sudirman Cup 2019 while Basle (Switzerland) and Tokyo (Japan) are in the running for the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2019.

The winning hosts will be announced following bid presentations to the BWF Council in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday afternoon.

Media are invited to attend the BWF’s announcement of the winning host cities on Saturday 18 March, 2017, at Doubletree by Hilton (Hibiscus Room) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at 4.45 p.m.
