Despite not being able to win the Grammy Award for “Best Tropical Latin Album”, Tony Succar continues to work on his great passion, music. This time it is news again, as it is on the verge of releasing its new production together with the successful singers Jean Rodríguez, younger brother of Luis Fonsi, and Noel Schajris.
The renowned Peruvian percussionist, composer and producer stands out for using the salsa genre in his different creations and did not hesitate to mix R&B and soul with the tropical. “Leave the Door Open”, which won the award for song of the year at the 2022 Grammys, will be released in salsa version this Friday, April 8, on all music platforms.
The song originally composed by the duo Silk Sonic, formed by Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, managed to captivate the 35-year-old American artist with Japanese ancestry, as he tells us in an interview with Infobae.
“A while ago I had listened to this song, Leave the Door Open, and from the moment it came out I already knew that it was going to be the theme of the year and that it was going to take some Grammys. So, I started recording it in my own time but I could never finish it and it was with my brother that we thought of inviting Jean Rodríguez, Luis Fonsi's brother,” says Succar.
He also revealed that it was the Puerto Rican singer who had the idea of convening the Argentine composer and former member of 'Sin Bandera' to accompany him to perform this new version, which can be heard in English and Spanish.
“When Jean heard the song he told us that he would love to be able to do it and he called Noel Schajris, who loved it and agreed to sing it. We recorded together and it was all very organic as friends (...) I think it's the first time that (Noel) sings like that in English and in salsa. We are excited, “he said with a smile.
Tony Succar stressed that the closeness he will have Noel Schajris with the Peruvians, being the new coach of La Voz Peru, will be a good opportunity for you to learn more about our culture. “Noel was called to be a jury in La Voz Peru and I think that this approach with Peruvians is good.”
It is worth mentioning that Tony Succar is working on the production of this song with his brother Kenyi Succar, who also participates in the official video clip.
YOUR NEXT PROJECTS
At another time, Tony Succar told us about his future projects that he plans to release this 2022. One of his main goals is to finish the first album he is producing for his mother Mimy Succar. As you remember, last December the first song “No me accustomo” was heard.
However, for this year the Succar family is planning to finish composing all the songs that will make up the first album performed by the 62-year-old woman.
“I have a lot of projects. I'm working on a record for India. I'm also doing the album in collaboration with my mom which is going to be my focus. It's looking spectacular and people are going to be surprised when they hear it “, concluded Tonny
