According to the press at the time, the actor was arrested at his home in Mexico City one morning. He was taken on patrol to Guerrero, where his entrance to the prison was searched at 9:30 a.m. The crime he committed in order to be deprived of his liberty was to write a check for 13,000 pesos without funds.

By that time, Valdés was already suffering from financial problems, so it was no surprise that the cheque could not have been cashed, in fact, he stated that from the beginning he was aware of what he had done.

The crime was not serious, so, after five hours of dialogue with the judge in charge, he went free. In exchange for his freedom, he had to undertake to compensate the person affected, as well as pay 5,000 pesos in cash on bail.

Indio Fernández was characterized as a man of controversy, including the occasion when he was formally accused of committing a murder in Torreón, Coahuila, in 1976.

As reported at the time by Agencia EFE, a judge handed down the actor and film director in prison because Javier Aldecoa Robles, a peasant with whom he had a confrontation, shot dead. El Indio said it was in self-defense, but fled the scene of the crime and tried to take refuge in Guatemala, where he was arrested after surrendering to the authorities.

Back in Torreón and after a long trial, a judge handed him 4 years and six months behind bars, however, he had already spent seven months in prison, so he was able to get bail. He was released after paying 150,000 pesos.

Cesáreo Quezadas Cubillas, known as Pulgarcito after one of his characters in Mexican cinema, spent 19 years behind bars after being accused of rape equated by sexually abusing their children.

Years after abandoning his successful career as a child actor, in 2002 Pulgarcito was put behind bars after Claudia Burgos, the second wife of the history, accused him before the authorities after having found a recording where he would have seen how he sexually abused one of his daughters. He filed a complaint on 11 counts, including rape, statutory rape and child pornography. However, 10 were discarded.

Thumb has since defended his innocence, claiming that his ex-wife denounced him for revenge.

José Jiménez Fernández, known as Joselito, was also behind bars. The singer and child actor who shared credits with Pulgarcito was deprived of his liberty many years after retiring from the entertainment world.

The Spanish artist, recognized for having been part of the Golden Age during its decline, was apprehended in his native country several times due to drug trafficking at the age of 46. As he even testified in some interviews after he was released from prison, during his childhood no one looked after his interests and, in adulthood, having run out of income, he decided to commit an offense.

However, he stated that the times he was deprived of liberty allowed him to become another person, a better one.
