Gustavo Bolivar, current Senator of the Republic and newly elected to the same office for the next 4 legislative years, has said he will denounce Senate President Juan Diego Gómez of the Conservative Party.
Bolívar has expressed himself both in the Senate and on social networks in the face of what for him is a “play” by the other senators with whom he has ideological differences so that he does not reach the second vice-presidency of the Senate.
Given this, he also made an intervention in front of his peers with the intention of laying his voice before what is contempt for him and leaving a precedent on March 22 as can be seen in this video:
Minutes later, through his social network Twitter, he announced that he would make the corresponding complaint to the President of the Senate arguing “fraud to judicial resolution and prevarication by omission.”
Faced with this, Juan Diego Gómez would later appear in an interview done by Blu Radio saying that there would be personal differences with the Senator of the Historical Pact: “What we have there is a personal problem of Senator Bolívar, with a series of parties , representatives and senators and we cannot solve that. We can give you guarantees, but love and charisma of colleagues cannot”.
In addition, he added of the controversy: “We will have to re-clarify the ruling or request a concept from the Council of State consultation room on the matter.”
However, according to Bolívar, the ruling orders Senator Iván Name to be removed from office and the elections repeated to decide who will be the new second vice-president of the Senate. However, he considers that consulting the Ministry of the Interior in this case is an ignorance of the separation of powers in the country and that this ministry should not clarify a ruling issued by the Council of State.
Gustavo Bolívar also said that everything seems to be “a systematic strategy of dilation” so that he does not take up the position over which he is having a legal dispute. It is expected that in the next few hours or days there will be a new pronouncement by those involved to know the final decision on who will be the second vice-president of the Senate.
