Journalist Anabel Hernández denounced Andrés García on February 3, however, the actor denied receiving any notification about the start of this process in against her; in conversation with Infobae Mexico, the writer mentioned that she may be disoriented about it.

The author of various journalistic investigations explained to this media that her complaint against Andrés García is for a criminal offence, so she will only receive notice from the authorities if the investigation requires a statement or an arrest warrant exists. When it comes to a lawsuit for moral damage, the accused person receives immediate notification.

“Perhaps there is confusion on the part of the actor because they are two different types (of complaints),” the author of the book Emma and the other ladies of the narco (Grijalbo, 2021) explained to this media outlet. In that publication, the journalist stated that drug trafficker Arturo Beltrán Leyva maintained friendly and business relations with personalities from the show such as Andrés García.

“He has been telling lies to get publicity so as not to die of hunger” and “Everything is a lie” were part of the harsh words that Andrés García launched against Anabel Hernandez for feeling slandered.

In an interview with Infobae México, the writer explained that in addition to the obvious verbal aggression, she found herself at great risk because of the statements in which the actor has admitted to knowing the drug traffickers:

It should be noted that on January 24, various civil organizations, journalists and activists expressed their concern for the integrity of Anabel Hernández over the actor's misogynistic, sexist and discriminatory comments; so they broadcast a communiqué through Article 19.

Andrés García showed that he did have contact with Arturo Beltrán Leyva, who constantly visited him in Acapulco, but denied having established any kind of alliance or business with him that would allow him to generate money.

“You say in your pinch* crap book* that I have been a partner and I have made money with the capos, and as I tell you, I know almost all of them, and some are much more decent and much nicer than her, but from there, since I have earned money with them, I check it out, she will have to check it out before a judge because I'm going to sue her,” she explained the actor through his YouTube channel.

In conversation with the media, Anabel Hernández described this statement as an apology for the crime and explained that these are “aspects that should already be investigated by law, but if the Public Ministry has failed to do so, it is important that it does so now (after its complaint)”

Although Emma and the other ladies of the drug dealer aimed to make visible women who are associated with drug traffickers, there was a stir among the public figures who were mentioned in it, some of them were Ninel Conde, Galilea Montijo, Alicia Machado, Sergio Mayer and Joan Sebastian.

For his part, the actor of telenovelas such as The Privilege of Love (1999) said on March 29 that he did not consider the denunciation real: “I don't think that's appropriate. I don't know her and I've never seen her. That lady shamelessly says that she has a witness who saw me receive wool from drug trafficking,” she said to Sale the sun.

In an interview with Infobae Mexico, the author of The True Night of Iguala (Grijalbo, 2016) reiterated that the complaint does exist:

“I filed the complaint even with the support of lawyers from the International Organization for the Protection of Journalists Article 19, I filed it with the support of feminist organizations and it is there; I have the document,” explained Anabel Hernández, who even recalled that she shared the pre-investigation number of it during a press conference, i.e. FED/FEADLE-CDMX/0000062/2022.

Finally, Anabel Hernández explained to this media that Andrés García has not sued her: “Nobody formally has notified me and there is, in what is the lawsuit for moral damage, which is different from a criminal complaint, there is a need for notification”, he explained.
