Chosica: Man Humiliates Woman Public Cleaning Worker

The subject forced the worker, with shouts and arrogant attitudes, to take a heavy bag of garbage that had to be removed by a collection truck.

Guardar

Great indignation has generated on social media the dissemination of a video in which a man is seen screaming and forcing a public cleaning worker to take a heavy bag of garbage which was to be transported by a collection truck and not by a public employee.

The incident would have occurred in block D-1, urbanization of San Antonio de Carapongo, first stage, district of Lurigancho - Chosica, next to a store or mini-market. The video was recorded from across the street.

At first, the man can be seen carrying a heavy bag of garbage and trying to force it into the bin that the cleaning worker uses to move small waste that she sweeps on the streets of that district.

The woman tries to explain that the man who does not belong to her to take the bag because his bin is small and points out to the subject where he should put the bag for the collection truck to take it.

However, the man returns enraged and reloads the bag and vehemently pushes it into the worker's bin. In addition, she yells at him and argues that it is she who should take that bag since the collection truck had not passed.

The woman, in a situation of obvious disadvantage, chose not to argue with the altered subject anymore and made a great effort to mobilize the garbage bin now full and heavy by the bag that the man introduced.

INDIGNATION OF CONGRESSMEN

At least two congressmen from the Republic have spoken out in relation to the video broadcast on social networks. One of them was former cleaning worker Isabel Cortez Aguirre (Together for Peru), who hopes that the authorities will take measures to prevent such acts.

Cleaning workers are always exposed to this type of abuse, unfortunately, by bad citizens. That's why it's time to denounce and not be silent, so that it doesn't happen anymore. I hope that the respective authorities will take action on the matter and not let this continue,” he said on his Twitter account.

For his part, government congressman Guido Bellido (Peru Libre) expressed his indignation and asked that the fact “should not be left out.”

This is aggression, which should not be left out. Minimarket owner humiliates a woman cleaning worker by arrogantly demanding that she pick up her garbage. The reprehensible event occurred in Carapongo, district of Lurigancho Chosica -Lim a”, he said.

CLEANING WORKERS IN PANDEMIC

It is worth noting the importance of public cleaners in Peru during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, since they were one of the few areas that did not stop their activities and were exposed to contagion. Some even lost their lives because of the virus.

On April 9, 2020, just after the pandemic began, the Callao Public Cleaning Service Company (ESLIMP) mourned the death of one of its workers due to the coronavirus. In a statement to the public, they indicated that the worker worked in the general services area of that entity.

A public servant has died who does not just a public job, but above all a civic and solidarity work with humanity, like all the members of the corporation, who have been working and will continue to do it more vigorously and in their memory,” they explained.
