Who is lying at the morning conference on Wednesday, March 16? Once again, I told you what to talk about.

The controversial part was announced by Ana Elizabeth García Vilchis, where the government intends to reject the journalistic report submitted the day before regarding issues of management and secretariat.

On this occasion, Vilchis spoke about the column of journalist Salvador García Soto, Serpientes y escaleras, published on March 15, for a column entitled “SEP bought a mask for 90 pesos each”.

According to the text, the Department of Public Education (SEP) spent 90 million pesos on the purchase of one million masks through direct awards, and the use of masks was not specified. The agreement was signed by @prende MX Coordinator Azsena Pimentel.

Vilchis stated that the column presented “a false invoice with an apocryphal signature in which an attempt was made to rob money from SEP last year,” and continued to be able to confirm the information with the agency, but “it's about hitting, not reporting.”

The reaction of the columnist did not take long. This is because the documents were submitted through the awards directly from the official Twitter account.

He later stated that he did not contact the agency because he did not see any publications or communications from SEP that clarified that it was a fraud, an apocryphal agreement, or some complaint.

He also said that previously the Secretariat “rejected requests for interviews, positions or comments from officials in the department,” said García Soto.

But at night, the problem did not stop there, because there is an account of Who, who shared the statement of SEP on the same social network.

In an explanatory note, the General Coordination of @prende MX denied that the documents submitted by García Soto were genuine and that they were apocrypal documents, since in the image of journalists the signature of the owner did not coincide with that of Azucena Pimentel.

And at the end of the document they added a sample of the recognized signature of the owner and another document presented by García Soto.

In turn, they submitted 2 minutes of detailed minutes to the relevant legal bodies and “are members of the bodies and institutions of the federal administration, so this adjustment complies with the legal action protocol to ensure due process (...). Therefore, the case was not made in the public domain.”

The statement was shared through the Who is who account, “Mr. @SGarciaSoto did not tell the truth when he said that @aprende_mx bought a mask for 90 pesos each. The document that @El_Universal_Mx columnist exhibited today is an apocryphal, and the signature is false.

This section was one of the most questioned during the six-year term of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. This is because journalistic work is considered stigmatized and penalized.
