(ATR) Thomas Bach has held discussions with Ban Ki-moon about the IOC’s Agenda 2020 reforms.

The pair met in New York Wednesday, wrapping up Bach’s week-long tour of the USA.

The German updated the UN secretary general about the implementation of the 40-point Agenda 2020 reforms approved by the IOC Session in Monaco in December. He told the South Korean that work has already begun on the introduction of various measures, including changes to the bidding process and a proposed Olympic Channel.

They also discussed the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Bach invited Ban to run with the Olympic torch in Rio as part of the relay next year.

In return, the UN chief invited the IOC president to celebrate the International Day for Sport Development and Peace in New York on April 6.

Earlier Wednesday, Bach met IOC honorary member and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. The pair discussed the IOC’s role in the international sport movement. Kissinger was invited to visit the IOC headquarters and Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

The New York meetings book-ended a busy week for Bach in the USA. It started with a meeting with former U.S. President Bill Clinton to discuss global issues and the possibility of closer cooperation between the IOC and the Clinton Foundation.

He was also a guest at the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, where he met a number of IOC TOP sponsors, NBC officials and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Bach then headed to Vail, Colorado to catch the opening of the FIS Ski World Championships.

On Monday and Tuesday, he was in Colorado Springs for meetings with U.S. Olympic Committee officials and Boston 2024 bid leaders.

The IOC president is now back in Lausanne.

His next major trip abroad is to Rio de Janeiro later this month to check-up on progress across the 2016 Games project. The eighth IOC coordination commission visit is scheduled for Feb. 23 to 25.

The IOC Executive Board meets in Rio Feb. 26 to 28.
