STAMFORD, Conn. - January 10, 2017 - 2016 Rio Olympians highlight the first event of the 2017 arena Pro Swim Series from the University of Texas’ Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas, this weekend on NBCSN. Live coverage begins this Friday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. ET, and continues this Saturday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will live stream coverage this Sunday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. ET.
Members of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team expected to compete in Austin include: four-time Olympic relay medalist and three-time Olympian Amanda Weir (Lawrenceville, Ga.); 2016 Olympic 4x100m freestyle relay gold medalist Ryan Held (Springfield, Ill.); and 2016 Olympic 200m breaststroke silver medalist Josh Prenot (Santa Maria, Calif.). Six-time Olympic medalist Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill.), the 2012 Olympic champion in the 100m backstroke, is also slated to compete. More than 500 swimmers will compete in the event this weekend.
Rich Burk calls the action for NBCSN, joined by analyst and three-time Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines.
The arena Pro Swim Series will be streamed live on NBCSports.com, and the NBC Sports app via "TV Everywhere," giving consumers additional value for their subscription service, and making high quality content available to MVPD customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms.
