Poznan, Poland is one of three bid cities for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games. (poznan.pl)Three national Olympic committees confirm they will put forward candidate cities to host the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
The IOC announced the bid cities today. They are: Guadalajara, Mexico; Nanjing, China; and Poznan, Poland.

It means Jakarta, Indonesia has dropped out of contention along with Morocco and Turkey, both of whom asked for more time to nominate a city but failed to do so.
The three confirmed bids now have until Sept. 4 to submit formal candidature files. A technical review and visit by an evaluation commission will follow.
The IOC Executive Board will draw up a short list of finalist cities at its December 9-12 meeting ahead of publication of the evaluation commission's report in January.
A vote at the IOC Session in Vancouver next February will decide the host of the 2014 YOG.
Singapore will stage the inaugural Summer YOG in August 2010 and Innsbruck, Austria hosts the first Winter YOG in 2012.
The summer edition of the YOG will feature about 3,500 athletes aged 14 to 18 who will compete in events in each of the sports on the Olympic program.
