The network has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Biswas, who brings with him extensive business leadership experience in broadcast, digital and print media across Asian markets including India and Singapore, with his role beginning on 5 January 2016.

Biswas most recently held the position of Director of Sports Content and Programming at Singtel, responsible for multiple linear and non-linear channels and platforms. Prior to that, he worked at Fox International Channels and ESPN Star Sports in Singapore.

"Joyee has a wealth of experience across television and digital platforms in Asia and we are delighted to be able to welcome him to the ELEVEN team," says Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS NETWORK. "Asia is a strategically important region for us and Joyee will play an integral role in shaping our vision and business plans for the area."

Reporting to Group MD Danny Menken, Biswas will be based in ELEVEN SPORTS NETWORK’s brand-new office in Singapore and will have direct responsibility across all business areas including affiliate and content distribution, advertising sales, programming, marketing and production for the network’s territories in Asia.

"ELEVEN has made impressive progress in Singapore and across all of its territories since launching last year and I am thrilled to have this unique opportunity to take on such a wide-ranging role," says Biswas. "We want to build something exciting in Asia and expand our broadcast and digital reach throughout the region. We have captivating content which deserves to be seen by all sports enthusiasts here, and in a way that speaks to the local fans."

Biswas also has experience of working in the IT sector, specifically in the growing e-education market of South East Asia, where he was responsible for business development. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Kolkata, one of the leading business schools in Asia, and a graduate degree in Engineering.
