Ricardo Monreal visited the “Bronco” as “a gesture of human solidarity”

Ricardo Monreal, leader of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) bench in the Senate of the Republic, reported that during a trip to Monterrey, Nuevo León visited former Montano governor Jaime Heliodoro “N”, better known as El Bronco. However, he also revealed that he later met current state president Samuel Garcia.

In a meeting with various media outlets, the president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) announced that last Thursday he visited the Bronco in the Apodaca prison and described the meeting as “a gesture of human solidarity on a holy day”.

Although he did not reveal what he talked about with the regional governor, Monreal Ávila, in a sarcastic tone, said that Samuel García wished him a good weekend.

“I went to Monterrey on Holy Thursday to meet some people who are in detention and I went to talk to the governor as well,” Ricardo Monreal commented when questioned whether he found similarities between the case of José Manuel del Río Virgen and El Bronco. As a gesture of reflection so that no excesses are commented on,” he said when asked about the reasons for his visit.

It was recently revealed that the former governor has suffered weight loss due to the fact that he was not provided with the corresponding diet after his departure from the Metropolitan Hospital, according to Adalina Davalos Martínez, wife of the Bronco.

“To make it clear, because then they are going to say that there is a question of privilege, and no, it is simply a menu, as they do to many who are deprived of their liberty here, when they are in a disease,” Davalos Martínez told various media outlets.

In addition, Adalina Davalos said she was concerned about her husband's state of health after being taken to the Metropolitan Hospital in Monterrey, indicating that weight loss is probably due “to his problems of the disease and the problem of sciatica as well, which have been manifested to her for the past. years, but today it is more noticeable.

As regards the Bronco's legal status, it is understood that a federal judge decided to return the case of the former governor of Nuevo León to a judge of state control.

During the last hearing held on April 19, Federal Criminal Judge Pedro Gerardo Álvarez Álvarez del Castillo considered that the case should continue at the state level because the arrest warrant was issued in that area.

On the other hand, it was determined that Jaime Heliodoro “N” will continue to be held in pre-trial detention, a measure with which he has been held since his arrest.

It is worth mentioning that El Bronco was recently linked to prosecution for the alleged crime of abuse of authority, resulting from an investigation into the case of the requisition of the transport system known in the state as Ecovia.

It was on March 15 that El Bronco was arrested in the municipality of General Terán, Nuevo León, in an operation led by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Electoral Crimes and the State Attorney's Office.

Samuel García also commented that this is “the tip of the iceberg”, as they target more officials during their tenure at the Monterrey Secretariat of Water and Drainage Services, as well as an investigation kit for alleged fraud in the purchase of COVID-19 tests.
