Patricia Chirinos will be admonished for insulting President Pedro Castillo during a public demonstration on November 27, 2021, as confirmed by the Congressional Ethics Committee after deliberation.

“If you will allow me, I have a few words that I want to say to you by looking him in the eye and without fear of President Castillo. You, go to the ***”, said the congresswoman at the time.

It is worth mentioning that this decision was taken with the decisive vote of the head of the Commission, Karol Paredes of the Acción Popular party, after a draw in eight votes for and against.

Faced with this, Diego Bazán, colleague of Patricia Chirinos, said that he will present a reconsideration of the vote, which will be reviewed in the next session.

For their part, they voted in favor: Carlos Anderson (Independent), Waldemar Cerrón (PL), Elias Varas (PL), Flavio Cruz (PL), Isabel Cortez (JP), Kelly Portalatino (PL) and Karol Paredes (Popular Action), who took the decisive vote.

PATRICIA CHIRINOS CONSTITUTIONALLY DENOUNCED PEDRO CASTILLO

The legislator Patricia Chirinos, constitutionally denounced President Pedro Castillo for the irremovability order that he decreed on 5 April last, mentioning that it was a measure that violated the right to liberty of Peruvians.

The declaration of social immobilization of 5/04 is a flagrant violation of constitutional order, for which the president will be held accountable to Congress. I have filed a Constitutional Complaint against Castillo for threatening the freedom of millions of Peruvians,” he said

“There are five violations of the Constitution that this Mr. Pedro Castillo has in recent days alone. Apparently he got used to it, but here the Congress of the Republic and the Peruvians are not going to let him pass a crime and another violation of our Magna Carta, that is why yesterday this constitutional accusation was filed,” he added in the document.

During her statements to the press, the third president of the congress supported the constitutional complaint against Pedro Castillo, which also requested his dismissal and disqualification from office for 10 years.

“This is particularly important in this situation, since when the State intends to limit the freedom of citizens, the decision must be correctly motivated and substantiated, that is, provide a clear and reasonable explanation,” it reads.

“President, for the good of the country, resign. Let democracy continue and submit to justice,” said the Avanza País legislator.

PJ REJECTS HABEAS CORPUS AGAINST CASTILLO'S COMPLAINT FOR TREASON

The judiciary rejected the habeas corpus claim requested by President Pedro Castillo's lawyer, which sought to annul the proceedings initiated in the Congressional Subcommittee on Constitutional Indictments for alleged treason.

“(The decision) takes place within the framework of the functions of political control established in the Political Constitution of the State for the Legislative Power and respect for the parameters that are appropriate to the political control of those that matter to the public interest,” said the judge in charge of the case, Juan Fidel Torres Tasso.

“There is no certain and imminent threat of infringement of constitutional rights to due process, the principle of legality, or the right to the defense of rights related to individual freedom,” determines Judge Torres.
