According to the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, the van in which former footballer Freddy Rincón crashed was rammed by a feeder of the MIO transport system because the driver omitted a red light located on race 34 with fifth street. Although the local president did not give details about the person who was driving, it should be remembered that previously Cali's undersecretary of mobility, Edwin Candelo, revealed that they are investigating whether Rincón was behind the wheel.

It was indicated that the evidence that has been collected so far will be handed over to the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, so that the corresponding investigations can be carried out.
