The national leader of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Mario Delgado, called the members of the National Electoral Institute (INE) “dictators and traitors”, within days of the revocation of mandate consultation.

On the afternoon of April 6, during the event in support of the Electric Reform from the Monument of the Revolution, the leader of the cherry party assured that next April 10, the day that the democratic exercise promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the people of Mexico will take place will carry out a “peaceful revolution” in favor of the Chief Executive.

“On April 10, we have the historic opportunity to expand and deepen our democratic life as a nation. This Sunday the people of Mexico will rise to the polls and lead a peaceful revolution against the dictatorship of the National Electoral Institute,” said Mario Delgado.

According to Delgado Carrillo's statements, the electoral body “is afraid of the people, that the people will be empowered, they are afraid that we will get used to living in a real and effective democracy.”

We are going to ratify our president so that the Transformation continues and to protect how much has been achieved. The only ones revoked will be the INE's traitors to democracy,” added the national leader of Morena.

Meanwhile, the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, commented that “some members of the INE do not have moral authority.” However, he supported the Chief Executive's proposal that Mexicans should choose who the Institute represents.

“No president, from now on, will be able to ignore the will of his people, because after three years he will be subject to revocation of his mandate. Today the one who puts the consultation, his mandate for revocation, can only be a brave president: President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. We tell him that he will not be defeated by slander, nothing, because he has a people who accompany him. The president is not alone, he is not alone,” said the capital's president.

Sheinbaum Pardo lashed out at the ancestors of the Tabasqueño: “How did Salinas come to power? With fraud. Who can forget how they tried to prevent López Obrador from participating in the 2006 election? Remember the lawlessness? There's Calderón, talking every day about López Obrador. And how did Calderón come to power? Said by himself, 'it has been as it has been'. It came with an electoral fraud. He put the country's security in the hands of a criminal.”

On the other hand, the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) considered that the messages disseminated by the Head of Government and López Obrador constituted government propaganda during a prohibited period.

In a public videoconference session, the magistrates considered the warning that Sheinbaum had received valid, since the Federal Law on the Revocation of Mandate prohibits public servants to disseminate government actions and achievements from 4 to 10 April, the date on which the popular consultation will take place.

Judges Felipe de la Mata Pizaña and Felipe Fuentes presented two bills stating that AMLO and Sheinbaum Pardo violated their constitutional duties and ignored the INE's calls.

Similarly, the INE ordered 13 governors of Morena and allied parties to delete tweets that from their perspective represented government propaganda. Among those involved were Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, Layda Sansores San Román and Indira Vizcaíno Silva.
