The Antioquian cyclist, Alejandro Osorio, was fired from the Arab team Bahrain Victorious on Wednesday morning, according to a short statement published by the team on social networks. There they expressed that some breaches of the contract had been committed, which attracted the attention of several media and fans, given that the Colombian spent just 3 months in the team's ranks.

The team also includes the Bogotá Santiago Buitrago, who has already completed four seasons this 2022, managing to stand out little by little in the squad, while he has been training in stages, being guided by great runners such as Wout Poels, Mikel Landa and Pello Bilbao, who won this day stage 3 of the Vuelta al Basque Country 2022.

However, the same exemplary behavior of Buitrago would not have been replicated in his compatriot Osorio, who has also not spoken on this subject. The team posted the following message in the morning:

Until then, the reasons why they decided to take the drastic decision were certainly not known, but the cycling media have scrutinized the cause, with Velonews being the one who announced the reasons for the dismissal of the Colombian athlete after an interview with the team's director, Milan Erzen.

The Slovenian leader has given enough detail to understand the situation for which they dispensed with Osorio in the last few hours and surprisingly, at least, for the fans:

In addition, the head of the Arab squad put the situation to the level that the coffee cyclist would have put the members of the ensemble at risk:

He assured that Alejandro did not comply with agreements at the health level, bypassing the protection bubble against Covid 19: “It's more than during the races; he came out of the COVID bubble. We have all the documents.”

It is expected that soon the Carmen del Viboral runner will make some statements giving his version of what happened.

Alejandro managed to do some important races at the start of the season such as: the 2022 UAE Tour where he finished 49th overall and 12th place in the youth standings. He also performed on the starting line at the prestigious Italian classic Strade Bianche where he did not complete the course.

For now he was seen competing in the 17th edition of La Clásica de Rionegro in Antioquia 2022 which will run from April 5th to 8th, achieving a third place in the packaging of the first stage where the runner Johan Colón of Pride Paisa won.
