The apparent new legal battle over copyright for the song Fruta Prohibida, officially recorded by Ana Bárbara, has been a topic of conversation in various media and social networks because José Manuel Figueroa has not officially commented on it, but he did suggest that the lyrics had been done by him, which has unleashed the fury of Queen Grupera.

In a new interview given to TVyNovelas magazine, the singer from the Mexican regional clarified that all her songs have been made by her, so she does not want the idea to enter the public that someone else intellectually owns the melodies. In a very particular way, she assured that she does not have a direct version of what is speculated in various media, but that she does want Joan Sebastian's son to know that if so, he must learn to see women within the genre succeed.

I didn't see him say it. They sent me the video and it's kind of ambiguous. The pity is that when you throw the stone and then hide your hand, you leave the doubt there. I gave birth to my songs and my children, and I don't have to give myself something that doesn't belong to me. On the contrary, with all the love and pride I tell you, each of my songs is properly and legally protected,” he said.

For Ana Bárbara, it is very important that her colleagues in the music industry of the Mexican region recognize the role that women play within her, since macho attitudes are not enough since they can also compose and create songs that get great commercial success on popular charts, as well as melodies with deep lyrics that demonstrate their empowerment.

“Many times admiration and envy can have something to do with it, and so can not accept the greatness of a woman. Because you often say: 'Is such a little fulanita able to reach that high, to reach the moon? ' Yes, sir, women can reach the moon, women can compose successful songs and mops, women can be admired, perhaps as many men would like to be,” he added.

The words did not stop: “And this is my comment on that. That brute song and all the others that are under my authority, legally belong to a servant. And I say that with all my pride, and what a shame. If he wanted to leave that doubt, I clarified it here, because it doesn't look pretty”, he explained.

In the past, Ana Bárbara did not hesitate to reaffirm that all her musical works are protected under the law, since whenever she creates a new song, she resorts to the legal procedures that correspond to all writers in order to avoid authors' wars in the future as is being her case, which somehow caught her by surprise. since he has a good relationship with Joan Sebastian's son.

My works are perfectly in order and recorded. It would be very unfortunate for a misogynistic comment, because that makes me feel, that they cannot accept a woman doing a song of that kind and as chingon* as it is Forbidden Fruit. Since day one I made Te Quise Olvidar, which was the first time I recorded an album more than 20 years ago, they are duly clear and recorded so there is no situation, at least what is legal, of the type 'she didn't make it'”, he said in Venga La Alegría.

To date, José Manuel Figueroa has not given any kind of statements on the subject, although his younger brother Julián Figueroa has mentioned that both singers have affection and respect for each other.
