With 25 medals, Colombia closed its participation in the World Cup in Paranatation in Germany

The national delegation won a total of ten gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals at the World Series held in Berlin

This weekend ended the World Series of Para Swimming in Berlin, a competition in which the Colombian delegation won a total of 25 medals. With the closing of competitions this Sunday, the Colombian para-athletes added a total of ten golds, eight silvers and seven bronzes in the Berlin World Series.

The closing figures of the contest were, with gold, Moisés Fuentes in the 200m chest SB4 and Sara Vargas in juveniles of the 50m butterfly S6 and 100m back S6. Hanging silver were Natalia Prada (200m chest SB7), Nelson Crispin (200m combined S6) and Esteban García (100m back S14). Likewise, the third place of this day was taken by Sara Vargas and Darlín Romero in the 50m butterfly S6 and S5 respectively.

For the closing date of the Berlin World Series of Para Swimming, the competitions started this Sunday around 6:00 a.m. (Colombia time) with the knockout tests and two finals. The first medals of the day were borne by Moisés Fuentes and Natalia Prada in the 200m chest. Fuentes was first in his test by registering 33:36 ,38, while Prada was second to take silver by clocking 3:39 .88.

Minutes later, the youth para-athletes Sara Vargas and Juan Esteban García hung gold and silver in the 100m of their S6 and S14 categories, respectively. Vargas to score 1:29 .02 and Garcia 1:07 ,26. Meanwhile, the medallist in Tokyo 2020, Nelson Crispin, was silver in the 200m combined SM6 after placing second by timing 2:40, 25.

Later, the “wonder girl” of the pools, Sara Vargas, was a double medalist in the 50m butterfly event. In the open category, Sara placed third with a record of 38.39, while, in youth, Sara won gold. During the same test Darlín Romero took bronze in the S5 class with a time of 54.73.
