They criticized Maroon 5 for “not filling” the Sol Forum and compared it to Coldplay: “It's emptier than my wallet”

Users evidenced that apparently the “staff” started giving away tickets in the platinum zone due to the small influx of people

Last Wednesday, the Californian band Maroon 5 returned to Mexico after their last performance, which was in February 2020.

With hits like Moves like Jagger or Sugar, Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, P.J. Morton and Sam Farrar made fans dance who gladly attended the Sol Forum in Mexico City to sing the most anticipated songs.

Even to the surprise of his fans, at some point during the concert, Levine tried hard to speak in Spanish and thanked everyone present for being with him that night.

“Thank you, how are you feeling today? It's beautiful to be back here with you today. My Spanish is very bad, horrible, but how do I love them,” he said.

Something that was also not lacking was the enraged desire of the attendees for the vocalist of the band to take off his shirt at the slightest provocation and, as expected, the performer of This is love and She will be loved made those who requested it happy and removed it, causing all kinds of screams and reactions.

Thus, although for the fans it was a great evening, the criticism around the presentation was not lacking, as many users on social networks mentioned that compared to Coldplay, a British band that is also touring in Mexico, Maroon 5 failed to fill the Sun Forum.

“The guys from Coldplay bring a super production and interact so cool with their audience that they turn their concerts into a unique and magical experience, at their side those of Maroon 5 look BORING”, “Maroon 5 went from filling venues and opening more dates, to having for a long time 2x1 promotion and giving away tickets to the area Platinum. The importance of reinventing yourself, keeping your feet on the ground, being kind, being humble... BEING HUMAN WITH THE PUBLIC AND YOUR FANS”, were some of the mentions that abounded on networks.

In this regard, some netizens evidenced that the American band would not have filled the venue and stated that this was supposedly due to the poor quality of the shows.

“Pos la neta two years ago I went porrrfin to a concert of them and perra disappointment. No connection with the public, what is handsome Adam had as a sucker. Go again? No thanks, I better listen to 'songs about Jane' on my discman, as before, how it should have always been (sic)”, “I was a fan, I went in 2017, I thought it would be the best experience of my life but the truth was very weak, they just arrive, they play their songs and leave, there is no interaction and connection with the audience, they are not interested”, said the tweeters.

And although attendees defended Maroon 5 and stressed that by the time the concert began, the capacity was already much larger than what had been previously exposed on networks, other netizens criticized that tickets were apparently being given away as a last resort to fill the venue.

This, after a user shared on Twitter that she had entries for a section further back and out of nowhere she was surprised to change the section.

“No mamen banda, my sister and I bought tickets for Maroon 5 in general b because platinum was expensive for us. We arrived 1:30 hour earlier and a guy from the staff saw us sitting on the floor and told us that if we didn't want tickets for platinum 1 Row 8 I'm not in shock,” wrote @GuzmanFeernanda.
