The names of Marbelle and Francia Márquez have been trending in recent days after the technocarrilera singer made a comment considered racist towards the vice-presidential candidate. For her part, the Afro-Colombian leader spoke to Marbelle's unpleasant comment and sent her a hug, which was rejected by the artist.
The Colombian singer born in Buenaventura is recognized for generating controversy on social networks, especially on Twitter, for being direct and not hiding her political opinions. However, she is constantly criticized because she not only makes her far-right position clear, but also dedicates herself to insulting those who do not think like her and, especially, she directs offensive trills against Gustavo Petro and those who support him.
After referring to Francia Márquez as “King Kong”, the singer has received three lawsuits for racism; however, the vice presidential candidate's response came through her official Twitter account. “Racism not only hurts, but also kills. Racism not only harms us, but hurts those who express it because we don't allow ourselves to build on love and difference. I send Marbelle an ancestral embrace so that it is healed and we build from difference,” wrote the policy.
But the embrace that France sent to Marbelle instead of smoothing the rough edges generated a much more annoying reaction on the part of the artist. There were several trills that the singer of the 'Pearl Necklace' dedicated to the aspiring Vice-Presidency, refusing her embrace.
In her first reply, the singer stressed that she does not feel represented by Francia Márquez and that she does not trust her either. “I return your ancestral embrace to keep it for you! YOU DON'T GIVE ME CONFIDENCE OR REPRESENT ME IN ANY WAY... don't give me the cheap speech with which you want to deceive people!” , he wrote quoting the candidate's trill.
But the answers did not stop there, Marbelle wanted to insist that she would not accept a hug from Marquez, so she trilled again, citing politics. “I don't want to hug you, not even ancestrally.”

These responses from the singer generated different reactions from Internet users, some who supported her unshakable position and others who criticized the “hate” that Marbelle generated through her words. “Marbelle bella brave, strong and thank you for doing so much more than thousands of Colombians for democracy”; “Well said Princess Marbelle, entire Colombia supports you”; “What a great pain does Maureen keep your soul! Think about your daughter”; were some of the comments that the singer received.
To end her assault on Francia Marquez, Marbelle compared politics to Judas, the biblical character, noting that her embrace was like the kiss that this apostle gave Jesus after betraying him. “They offered me THE HUG OF JUDAS.”

So far, three lawsuits against Marbelle lie in the offices of the Attorney General's Office. The crime for which he could be deprived of his liberty is discrimination on racial grounds. It should be recalled that Law 1482 of 2011 amended the Penal Code and recognized in articles 134B and 134C the offence mentioned above.
The complaint by Roy Barreras, which was filed in the office of Attorney General Francisco Barbosa, reads the senator's analysis of Marbelle's tweet, which was deleted hours after it was published by the wave of expletives that the singer received as a result. This is how Mrs. Ramírez used this character to refer in a disparaging, rude and insulting way to the vice-presidential candidate Francia Márquez Mina.
The Radical Justice collective did not stand idly by and also went to the Prosecutor's Office to accuse Marbelle of harassment. According to the lawyer, Ali Bantú Ashanti, a claimant for Radical Justice, Marbelle's comment “projects a racist imaginary, thereby hurting the dignity and feelings of people of African descent,” as quoted by the local newspaper El Colombiano.
In the same way, the Observatory on Gender-Based Violence against People of African Descent, VigíaAfro, assured that this type of action could lead to sanctions, because it responds to a cluster of violence not only against the black race but against women.
