However, this Thursday saw a reduction due to the fact that more trucks with this product did enter the capital. In the market of Caqueta the kilo of chicken can be found in up to 8 soles, in a market in Callao the price is 8.50 per kilo.

The price of fish has not changed much in Lima, but it has changed in the provinces where this product comes from the coast.

As for the price of sugar, it remains high and can be found between 4 and 5 soles in the main supermarkets in Lima.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, at the conference of the Council of Ministers chaired by Aníbal Torres, there was talk about the rise in the prices of basic necessities, especially the chicken. Faced with this, the former Minister of Justice and Human Rights, said that families should get used to eating more fish.

“Although the price of chicken rises, but the price of fish falls, especially horse mackerel, we have to get used to consuming those substitute products that our sea can provide us with,” said the premier in conference after the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

CARRIERS' DEMANDS

Among the requests of heavy cargo carriers to continue the stoppage are

- The rise in fuel, whose price has increased by more than 37%, during 2022, according to Petroperú.

- The elimination of the Selective Consumption Tax (ISC) that would affect gasoline.

- They call for the elimination of unfair competition that would be made by foreign carriers in the country.

- In addition, they call for a review of road and toll concession contracts.
