The local deputy of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Adriana Espinosa de los Monteros, presented before the Congress of Mexico City a point of agreement for the corresponding agencies to promote and give credit for the creation of a taxi service that is exclusively for women.

Espinosa de los Monteros asked that the Secretariats of Labour and Employment Promotion, Women and Mobility in the country's capital support the establishment of “Simone”, a name he proposed in memory of the French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir. He also proposed that Semovi carry out the corresponding studies, work tables and censuses, to evaluate the feasibility of the project.

According to the Morenista, a study conducted by Stanford University called “Victimization in Transportation in Mexico City and the Metropolitan Area”, points out that a higher economic income of people helps mitigate risks by allowing them to live in mayor's offices with safer colonies.

“The study shows that means of transport by applications are perceived as the safest, in addition to the fact that the probability of being a victim of any crime is significantly lower in means of transport by applications than in other modes of transport,” said Espinosa de los Monteros.

According to the National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), during the fourth quarter of 2021, an estimated 52.6% of women aged 18 years and older came out daily from their homes, while 67.9 per cent of men, of the same age group, left their homes.

However, the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), indicated that the abductions of women exceeded 10 cases in January to 28 in February, which not only represents the highest record in the last two years, but also the most substantial for the same period in the entire administration.

Thus, the Mexican Republic has accumulated 38 abductions of women so far in 2022, of which five have been of minors.

On the other hand, according to the report of the organization Causa en Comuno, Analysis of Criminal Incidence January-February 2022, in the first two months there was an increase in the crimes of kidnapping and trafficking in persons, among others.

However, the Ministry of Citizen Security (SSC) announced that 60% of reports of some type of incident or digital crime are made by women.

The main sectors affected were women between 25 and 40 years of age, followed by the population aged between 18 and 25. The three most reported incidents by women are: love-related fraud, sexual violence-related behavior and cyberbullying.

Against this background, the Cyber Police Unit of the Ministry of Citizen Security of Mexico City created a section on the website, which helps to understand this problem.

This section is hosted on the main page of the Ministry of Citizen Security, at the link https://www.ssc.cdmx.gob.mx/, where users can find concepts, types of digital violence, a map of institutions that can support victims with technical, psychological and legal guidance, as well as instances where they can make a formal complaint.
