Mexico City, 19 Mar The famous Circo Atayde Hermanos amazed this Saturday with multiple acrobatic and circus disciplines, in addition to many laughs, the attendees of its show at the Zócalo in Mexico City, which was filled with families craving leisure in the face of covid-19 figures that remain descending. As part of the Spring Festival organized by the capital's Ministry of Culture and which includes more than 50 free activities this weekend, the circus house founded in 1888 brought its classic show to this famous place that represents the heart of the city and where the National Palace, also the residence of the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The show, which lasted about two hours, consisted of 20 acts from various disciplines such as balance, acrobatics, juggling and clown. This circus has a long history of success and this time the audience - mainly families - filled the Zócalo plank to see the fifth generation of the Atayde family made up of Alexis and Ingrid, who gratefully received the applause and affection of the attendees. This festival, one of the first mass events after several spikes in coronavirus infections, brought this circus to the Zócalo for the first time and the show was free. “We are very excited to perform in the capital's Zócalo where we will be offering a classic circus performance with contortionists, jugglers, acrobats and balancers who will leave you impressed,” Alexis Atayde, 16-year-old juggler and son of Celeste Atayde, artistic director and general manager of the circus. The Spring Festival, which will last until Monday, will also include concerts in various places in the historic center of the capital by artists such as the Perez Prado Orchestra and Roco Pachukote, Los Panchos, Tania Libertad, Matías Aguayo or Dengue Dengue Dengue Dengue. The Spring Festival 2022 is organized by the capital's government through the Ministry of Culture and with the support of the Institute of Sport, the Institute for Youth, the Secretariat of Citizen Security, the Secretariat of Tourism and the Joint Fund for Tourism Promotion, to promote economic reactivation and access to culture.
