Napoli beats Torino 1-0 on Sunday at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Napoli were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Fiorentina away (2-1), the other to Cagliari at home (2-0) whilst Torino were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Juventus. As it stands, Napoli are in 2nd place, with 21 points from 8 matches, while Torino sit in 12th, with 8 points from 8.

After a goalless first half, Napoli piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Victor Osimhen finding the net, at 81 minutes. The game ended with a 1-0 home victory.

For Napoli, Hirving Lozano, Eljif Elmas, Dries Mertens and Juan Jesus, came on for Matteo Politano, Lorenzo Insigne, Piotr Zielinski and Hirving Lozano. Torino brought on Ben Lhassine Kone, Alessandro Buongiorno, Tommaso Pobega, Andrea Belotti and Magnus Warming, to replace Rolando Mandragora, Ricardo Rodriguez, Karol Linetty, Antonio Sanabria and Ben Lhassine Kone.

There were bookings for Kalidou Koulibaly and Andre Zambo Anguissa from Napoli. For Torino, Ricardo Rodriguez, Karol Linetty and Tommaso Pobega saw yellow.

Napoli will play away against Roma, while Torino will face Genoa at home.
