(ATR) PyeongChang 2018 organizers are setting their sights on test events.

POCOG launched the aptly-named PyeongChang Winter Series Foundation on March 16. The Foundation will arrange 28 international test events from Feb. 2016 to April 2017 to further preparations for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

At the Foundation’s first meeting in Seoul on March 16, PyeongChang 2018 president Yang Ho Cho told representatives from Korea’s seven national winter sports federations, Gangwon Province, and venue cities that Games preparations are now a shared responsibility.

"Considering that the first test events will be held next February, there isn’t much time left," Cho said.

"Now it is time for all of us to come together and gear up for Games preparations."

"I feel the burden on my shoulders, but I will use that as positive impetus and make my best effort to make each event a success," he concluded.

The fourth PyeongChang 2018 Coordination Commission will visit Gangneung, host to three 2018 Olympic venues, on March 17 to 19.
