(ATR) Usain Bolt, el hombre más veloz del mundo, dio positivo al coronavirus.
Según parece el ocho veces medallista de oro olímpico se contagió durante una fiesta por su cumpleaños 34 en Saint Andrew, Jamaica, el viernes último.
El ministro de Salud de Jamaica, Christopher Tufton, confirmó que el lunes en la noche el ex velocista retirado fue informado oficialmente de que dio positivo por COVID-19.
La policía investiga las circunstancias en torno a esa fiesta, de acuerdo a medios locales.
Los videos publicados en las redes sociales mostraban a Bolt y a sus numerosos amigos compartiendo y bailando, sin mascarilla ni precauciones de distanciamiento.
El primer ministro jamaicano Andrew Holness ha dicho que la policía pronto informará sobre su investigación.
En Jamaica más de 1,000 personas han sido acusadas por violar la Ley de Gestión de Riesgo de Desastres, a propósito del coronavirus,según The Gleaner.
Antes de conocer la confirmación de su contagio, Bolt habia puesto un video en las redes sociales el lunes temprano en el que anunciaba desde una cama que se habia autoaislado en espera del resultado de un test realizado el sábado último, y que se encontraba asintomático.

Bolt dijo que se hizo el test además porque tenía un viaje de negocios fuera de Jamaica este martes, que, por supuesto, ha cancelado por su cuarentena.

Bolt se retiró en 2017. Corrió los 100 planos en 9.58 segundos y los 200 en 19,19 segundos en el campeonato mundial de Berlín en 2009, ambos records mundiales vigentes.
Bolt es el campeón olímpico número quince contagiado con COVID-19.
En ese listado figuran las estrellas de la NBA, Kevin Durant, Harrison Barnes, Patrick Ewing, y Russell Westbrook.
