After selection Nissan do Brasil as a sponsor of the Rio 2016™ Olympic Games, the Rio 2016™ Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games announces the company as the first commercial partner of the Rio 2016™ Paralympic Games, in the Automotive category, and of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.
The partnership includes the provision of more than 2,000 Nissan do Brasil vehicles that specifically meet the needs of the Rio 2016™ Paralympic Games. Of this total, 270 units will be adapted to carry handicapped and other people with special needs - 150 units will be prepared to carry a single chair and other 120 to carry two chairs. Nissan’s models are not defined yet, but there will be sedans, SUVs, pickups, vans and minivans.

Like the 4,500 vehicles that Nissan will deliver to the Olympic Games in 2016, the 2,000 units for the Paralympic Games prioritize clean energy (ethanol or electricity), which reaffirms the goal of the Rio 2016™ to achieve the sustainability goals of the Games. Nissan's sponsorship, however, starts this year with the company providing vehicles to the Brazilian Paralympic Committee and its athletes during the Paralympics Games in London, which occur between August and September.

Among them is the incentive program for young athletes who will compete and represent the country at the Rio 2016™ Olympic and Paralympic Games.
To support excellence in operation of the Games, Nissan will also provide services such as driver training and logistics solutions that meet the complexity of the event.
