The inconsistencies in the murder of Debanhi Escobar have generated outrage throughout the Republic, sparking severe criticism. towards the Government of Nuevo León, as well as to the Attorney General's Office (FGE).

They were joined by Senator Ricardo Monreal, who failed prosecutors for “negligent actions” for the prevention of femicide. Which is why the official joined the demands of justice by Debanhi and all women “victims of violence and indifference”.

And it is worth remembering that the young woman was found lifeless thirteen days after her disappearance inside a cistern of the “Nueva Castilla” motel, located in the same area where the authorities deployed the search operatives.

Given this, the institution's only statement led by Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero was that Debanhi would have died for “deep contusion of the skull”, at the same time as other versions pointed to the death as an accident - which was denied by the family itself.

This earned the Prosecutor's Office, as well as the Governor, Samuel Garcia, from a series of attacks, as the death of the young student took place in the middle of the crisis of insecurity towards women that is currently plaguing the northern state.

In this regard, it is pertinent to note that the president of the Citizen Movement (MC) instructed the body to make all the information and progress in the investigation transparent because, he declared,” I as Governor of the State don't know the folder, I haven't seen a video.”

Aldo Fasci, state secretary of public security (SSP), even acknowledged that what happened with Debanhi reflects “a massive human failure” of the institutions: “They were there four times and found nothing,” he told the media.

Hence, the young woman's father, Mario Escobar, reaffirmed his distrust of the prosecutor, in addition to holding responsible for the death of his daughter the “trusted” taxi driver who was supposed to take her home and who took her last photograph alive.

In this regard, Mario assured that the subject would have caused Debanhi to get out of the car after touching her without his consent: “My daughter died from incompetent people,” he said.

Both the family and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) hope that they will uncover more details over time: from revelations of new videos, to a hint of how long Debanhi had been in the cistern, who would have taken her life and how she threw it into the water tank.

For its part, the administration of the motel where the body of the law student was found mentioned on several occasions that some of the cameras were not in operation or were solely for monitoring - that is, the footage is not stored.

Meanwhile, Alcosa Transportes Internacionales - a company also involved in the case - has not disclosed the reasons why both recordings captured by its security cameras are lost.
