After the controversy that Paco Gabriel de Anda made viral when comparing Sebastián Córdova with Barcelona footballer Pedri, the fans shook him up on social networks, especially for mentioning that the Spanish midfielder “doesn't ask anything” from the Mexican, so David Faitelson didn't want to stay out of it and threw another ironic comment.
According to his style, the ESPN Deportes analyst recalled a few words from Manuel Lapuente, who once spoke about Cuauhtémoc Blanco and its similarities with the French Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane,
Because of these disproportionate similarities, similar to those between Pedri and Córdova, Faitelson gave a hint to his colleague Paco Gabriel, mentioning that this comparison is difficult to overcome, that any one looks like “a good joke”.
In this way, he joined the way in which hundreds of users on social networks attacked Paco Gabriel de Anda, although this time he did it with Professor Lapuente in between, as he lashed out at his old words and that daring assertion in favor of El Cuau.
In June 2010, Faitelson himself revealed in a column published by ESPN that “Lapuente has lived all his life close to those 'mental loops' or rather let's call him 'despistes'”, because at that time he described Mexico as candidate for World Cup finalist in South Africa.
To accentuate his argument that Manuel Lapuente is not always right with his statements, he recalled that in a television program where the two were, presumably on TV Azteca, the historical coach stated that “Cuauhtémoc Blanco is a better footballer than Zinedine Zidane”.
Because of these statements, Faitelson wrote that it was necessary to take “things slow”, with respect to the former coach's comparisons, because according to him, “there are days when Lapuente thinks with his beret and not with his head.”
This bold criticism of the journalist was remembered 12 years later, after Paco Gabriel de Anda dared to compare America's academy, Sebastián Córdova, with Barcelona star and last FIFA Golden Boy, Pedri.
What did Paco Gabriel de Anda say about Pedri and Córdova?
In a recent Picante Football program on the ESPN channel, the former director of Pachuca and Chivas explained that, in his perspective, Córdova's qualities were not so different from those of Pedri, so he remembered what he said during the last Olympic fair in Tokyo.
“It was a conversation at the Olympic Games in which Pedri was talked about and compared to Córdova. I said: 'Córdova doesn't ask Pedri for anything'. How many goals does Pedri have outside the box? One. Outside the area, the one he just did just. The only one he has in his career with his right leg, with his left leg, let's not even talk. Now, how many does Córdova have outside the area?” , exclaimed the panelist.
This statement went viral on social networks and provoked all kinds of criticism, ridicule and ironic comments from Mexican and Spanish football fans, as a large sector did not consider the comparison appropriate, both in terms of football level and position, since they play different roles in their teams.
