The Hemophilia Foundation presented the agenda of the various actions and objectives of the commemoration of World Hemophilia Day. “For this year we consider it vital that the different actors that have a direct or indirect relationship with hemophilia have a meeting point and space to converge in order to achieve improvements in the comprehensive treatment of this disease throughout the country,” they explained.
The World Federation of Hemophilia, has set itself the following slogan for this day: “Access for all: Partnerships. Public policies. Progress. Involve their government, integrate hereditary bleeding disorders into national public policies” It is then that under this framework they presented this proposal.
“We have a schedule of activities for the previous weeks, both virtual and face-to-face, which will be coordinated with a social media and media campaign to give visibility to hemophilia and place it on the health policy agenda,” they said.
Hemophilia is a condition of the blood that affects the clotting process and that, in about 70% of cases, is inherited through the X chromosome of women, which makes them carriers of the gene in their family. Although mostly men suffer from it, women carriers can also have symptoms.
