Jorge Luis Pinto, was the coach from Santander who saw Freddy Rincón make his debut in Colombian Professional Football at just 19 years old in Colombian Professional Football, Freddy Rincón, when he led the Bogota team, Independiente Santa Fe.

Pinto has recognized the undeniable talent of the 'Colossus' and how it was a key token for the 'red expresso' he directed. “When I saw its potential in Santa Fe, I came to say that the team would be 'Freddy Rincón and 10 more', it was very technical, fast, strong and followed instructions. I was very fond of him, in the team they said he was like my son,” said coach Santandereano.

He also highlighted Rincón's qualities when it comes to adapting to what was requested in training and professional matches: “In the only position he missed playing was as a goalkeeper... One day I put him as a point marker, another as a central player”.

About his time in Santa Fe, the coach from Santander said: “I had a truck body, but a Volkswagen engine. That was the great evolution it had. We teach him how to play collective football with speed.”

He curiously pointed out an anecdote with the mother of the 'Colossus of Buenaventura', who highlighted Pinto's obvious work on the personality of Rincón: “Once in a game we played with Santa Fe in Buga, leaving the hotel at the door was a lady sitting and when she saw me she called me and told me that I was Freddy's mother. He immediately asked me 'What did you do to Freddy? '” .

But it was not the only work that these two football professionals had together in Colombia, they would meet again in a Bogota club, this time Millonarios, where Pinto and Rincón tactically led the ambassador.

The Santanderean highlighted the mental accompaniment that the 'Colossus' gave in the albiazules players: “He talked a lot with the boys, I told them to listen to him, to learn from their experiences as a footballer. Freddy is a very respectful, timely man, he speaks what he has to talk about and is very discreet.”

For the 'Colossus of Bonaventure', good wishes have not ceased to improve his state of health promptly, as many figures in World Football have shown.

Falcao, who is currently playing for Rayo Vallecano in Spain, wrote, “My prayers and a hug to Freddy Rincón's family and friends in these hard times. A lot of strength for him at this time of struggle for his life.” This is the first reference of the Tricolor to manifest itself with regard to the situation in Rincón.

Along with Falcao, some former players, clubs and coaches have spoken out about what happened to Rincón. Jorge Bermudez wrote on his social networks: “Fuerza amigo. Prompt recovery. God always be with you.”

For its part, the Corinthians, team in which he became an idol, published, “all our prayers are with our world champion Freddy Rincón, who suffered a serious traffic accident in Cali. Force Freddy!” .

Likewise, the player of the Colombia women's team, Nicole Regnier, also sent her message of encouragement to Rincón: “Because you put this country to dream and you gave it greatness, it was FREDDY EUSEBIO. You deserve to get out of this!” .

One of the last parts of the 'Colossus of Buenaventura' said today Wednesday, April 13, is that “His condition and criticality are extreme,” reported Laureano Quintero, medical director of the Imbanaco Clinic where Freddy Rincón is being treated.
