Frank Lampard, head coach of Everton FC, spoke at a press conference leading up to next Saturday's game against Manchester United. The technical director gave an update to the medical department where he gave the date of Yerry Mina's possible return to the field after his quadriceps injury, suffered in the match against Newcastle United.

Lampard said that Mina would hardly be available for the match against Manchester, but that he would be considered for the midweek match against Leicester City, “With Yerry Mina, we hope he is fit for Leicester.” Who would return for the next match would be the midfielder Fabian Delph and those who still have to remain in the medical department are Andros Townsend and Tom Davies.

Recent reports in the English media indicated that the player would soon return to training. It should be given gradually and under the strict observation of the medical department, so as not to overload the muscle and that recovery occurs 100%. Contrary to what happened in February when he could only play one game and fell back to the next match. Now, this does not mean that his return to the playing field is a matter of weeks.

Mina's last match was on December 8 in the 3-1 loss to Newcastle United since then 65 days have passed where Everton has lost seven games and won three games. However, the situation in the standings is not easy, as it is placed in box 17 with 24 points, one point behind the relegation.

Everton's pending matches are Manchester United, Leicester City (twice), Liverpool, Chelsea, Watford, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Arsenal. A calendar that is not easy but that can save you from losing the category.

Everton's bad campaign has already 'caught the heads' of Spaniard Rafa Benitez and Englishman Duncan Ferguson, who had taken over as interim coach. The appointment of Lampard, Chelsea legend and one of the top scorers in the history of the English league, arrived, but the picture is still not improving. Of the eight matches he has led, the 'Toffees' accumulate six defeats, and currently occupy square 17 with 25 points, three from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard seeks to give opportunities to players from the Everton academy. One of them is 18-year-old Reece Welch. The central defender is similar to that of Yerry Mina, 1.98 meters, and was one of the most outstanding in the U23 team, so the English coach took him to the bench in the match against Wolverhampton.

In the last game, Everton striker Richarlison's two goals were not enough and his team fell to Burnley 3-2, on the 19th date of England - Premier League 2021-2022. The goals of the match for the home were scored by Nathan Collins (11′ 1T), Jay Rodriguez (11′ 2T) and Maxwel Cornet (39′ 2T). While the away goals were scored by Richarlison (17′ 1T, from penalty and 40′ 1T, from penalty).
