Trujillo was no stranger to the transport strike that has been complied with nationally. As is recalled, all the modalities in this sector were called to stop their activities as a way of protesting the statements of Pedro Castillo, who stated that the guilds would be receiving money to “destabilize the country”.

During the morning, it was reported that a group of subjects entered the Minka shopping center in the city to steal merchandise, taking advantage of the fact that the police tried to disperse the demonstrators in nearby avenues.

POLICE DISPERSE PROTESTERS AND OPEN ROAD DURING STRIKE

The timely intervention of the Peruvian National Police has stopped protesters from blocking the main avenues in the province of Trujillo during the first day of the 48-hour strike in various regions of the country.

The protesters wanted to close the Pan-American Highway North, at the height of the El Milagro town center, Huanchaco district, however, the presence of the USE agents managed to prevent this objective from being achieved.

In addition, it was known that a group of protesters lit tires and put sticks on the North Pan-American Highway, in the district of Salaverry, but again the police dispersed the demonstrators and removed obstacles from the road to reactivate traffic in that area, which connects the south and north of the country.

The same situation was experienced in the fencing of the city where tires were burned, as in Unión Avenue, Villarreal, El Porvenir district. In addition, it became known that a group of protestants attacked public transport buses. The police had to disperse the protesters to bring calm to this highly passable area.

TOLL BOOTHS BURN IN ICA

The demonstrations do not stop in our country, despite the fact that the government signed an agreement with the transport and farmers' unions in order to lift the unemployment which blocked Peru's main roads.

Given this, this Monday afternoon it was evident how a group of people burned the toll booths in Ica. The Peruvian National Police reported that nearly 100 people set fire to these facilities, according to RPP Noticias. The police have asked the population not to leave the house to take care of their integrity.

In the images you can see the shattered booths, the broken moons, the burnt security cameras and even the traffic light that controlled the toll was destroyed.

The inhabitants of this place known as “Chinatown”, said that they live from agriculture and that the payments they receive are too low to be able to feed their families, especially now in the face of the rise of the family basket.

Likewise, not only transport and farmers' associations protest, but also mothers who demand immediate solutions. “This strike will continue until there is a solution,” they said.

On the other hand, it was also reported that the two-tap mini-markets of Ica were also looted during the demonstrations due to the strike by carriers of the Union of Multimodal Transport Guilds of Peru (UGTRANM).
