Harrison Ford will star in “Shrinking”, an Apple TV+ series

In a very short time, Apple TV+ managed to rank among the platforms with the best content today and with a considerable presence at the Emmys and Oscars by winning with Ted Lasso and CODA: Signals of the Heart respectively. It continues to bet on quality content and has already gathered stars such as Tom Hanks (Finch), Ben Stiller (Severence) and Samuel L. Jackson (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey). He is now going for a new series with Harrison Ford.

The actor has just shot the fifth installment of Indiana Jones and will now play Dr. Phil Rhodes, a down-to-earth psychiatrist and pioneer in cognitive behavioral therapy. He shares a practice with two of his proteges, Jimmy (Jason Segel) and Gaby, and was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's, forcing him to step out of his comfort zone and reconfigure his life by approaching his loved ones, friends, colleagues, etc.

Shrinking is even better as it is from the producers of Ted Lasso, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein and Segel himself (who is now starring in Lakers: Time to Win). It was a project that had already made progress in its realization, but now it is being produced specifically to start shooting. It doesn't have a release date yet.

The fiction centers on a grieving therapist interpreter by Segel, who begins to break the rules and tells his clients exactly what he thinks while ignoring his training and ethics. This will lead you to take some action regarding your personal life, your profession and how you deal with your environment. Among them, Dr. Phil Rhodes played by Harrison Ford.

Ford is the absolute novelty of the project not only because of its own presence but because it already made some guest appearances in television series in the 1960s and 1970s. In addition, she reprised one of her most famous film roles of her career by bringing her Indiana Jones character to the small screen in an episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in 1993. In this way, Shrinking will be Ford's first regular series in his entire career.

Lawrence's Doozer Productions is the production company that is running Shrinking. The series is the third that Bill Lawrence has produced for Apple TV+, after Ted Lasso and Bad Monkey, directed by Vince Vaughn, which will have 10 episodes.
