This Thursday, March 31, the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, announced the delivery of new surveillance cameras that will be installed in the gardens of Buen Comienzo. As announced by the president, this is part of a strategy that seeks to strengthen the safety of children who are part of the program.
In response to complaints of alleged abuses that have occurred in Medellín, inside gardens attached to Buen Comienzo, the Mayor's Office of Medellín announced this measure to safeguard the integrity of minors.
“We delivered 124 state-of-the-art cameras to @Buen_Comienzo. They will allow the recording and transmission of information in real time to constantly monitor activities at the headquarters. We increase the safety of our children,” Quintero reported through his Twitter account.

La Colina Children's Garden was the scene of the delivery of the equipment
The Company for Security and Urban Solutions (ESU) was responsible for providing the 124 cameras and other electronic equipment to equip the gardens with a Good Start. At an event held at the La Colina Children's Garden, located in the Guayabal neighborhood, the ESU officially delivered the devices that will be installed and put into operation in the coming days.
“This is a donation that is part of the mayor's efforts to find more ways and ways to care for our children. What is more important in a society than children, what should we be more careful about if not children in Medellin?” , said the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, during the event.
The cameras and other devices delivered will be put into operation in 18 Buen Comienzo headquarters, distributed in both urban and rural areas, which will allow better control over the provision of the service for the protection of children.
From the moment of delivery, the security cameras will be at the service of Buen Comienzo, an entity that will prioritize their installation and operation to strengthen the existing systems within the framework of the interventions they develop.
“This donation contributes to our purpose of continuing to improve safety scenarios for children. We intend that by the middle of the year, around 50 or 60% of all Buen Comienzo headquarters will have security cameras installed”, concluded the director of Good Start, Hugo Díaz Marín.
