Which countries in Latin America offer the most vacation days per year?

When we start a new job, among the first questions we ask our employer is about the salary we are going to receive, benefits and the holiday season that corresponds to providing a service. These days of rest are used by many professionals to relax, put stress aside, spend time with family or friends, and recover energy after working days. It is important to note that each workplace has its own system for ordering its workers, always monitored by the appropriate authorities.

The fact: Did you know what...? The International Labour Organization (ILO), in Convention 132, suggests the minimum average paid rest to be 18 days for one year of continuous work.

Before the end of March, the ranking of countries that offer the most vacation days to their workers was published. This is a list drawn up with data collected by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE THE MOST VACATION DAYS?

1. BRAZIL: In this country, workers have 30 days of vacation after they have provided a service of at least 12 months. Also, paid rest is usually divided into three periods or requested together. In the case of splitting, at least one of the ranges must consist of 14 days.

2. PANAMA: taking as a reference to the Labour Code that the aforementioned country has, the professional will have 30 days of paid leave each year, once the 11 months of work have been completed, as long as they have completed them in the same company.

3. PERU: In the case of our country, workers in various sectors are entitled to 30 days of paid rest for each year of service. However, it should be clarified that this does not apply to employees of SMEs, since they have at least 15 days of vacation.

4. URUGUAY: In Uruguayan territory, for each year of service provision, the human capital of each company will have 20 continuous paid days of rest. In addition, in the fifth year of work, he will be entitled to one additional day of leave for every four years of seniority.

5. VENEZUELA: In this country governed by Nicolás Maduro, workers have 15 working days of paid leave, according to the Organic Labour Law that governs the entire territory.

The fact: It's important to keep this information in mind if you're planning to travel to another country to live and look for other job opportunities to grow professionally.

6. CHILE: According to Chilean law, professionals are decreed to have 15 working days of paid rest after completing one year of service in the same company.

7. COLOMBIA: The Substantive Labour Code provides that after completing one year of work, employees may enjoy 15 consecutive working days of paid leave.

8. ECUADOR: all those who have started a new job in this country will be able to apply for their vacation period after completing a year in their position. This represents 15 days in a row.

9. GUATEMALA: After one year of continuous work, the worker will have 15 working days of paid leave.

10. ARGENTINA: According to the employment status of professionals in this country, the laws establish 14 consecutive days as the minimum period of paid annual leave.

Costa Rica was also included in the list. According to the legislation, all those who have entered into an employment relationship are entitled to 14 days of paid rest for every 50 weeks of continuous work.
