The big metropolitan events return to Bogotá: these are the dates of the 2022 Festivals to the Park

Idartes announced that, among the musical and artistic encounters that citizens will be able to enjoy this year, are the Ibero-American Theater Festival, Salsa al Parque and the Arte a la KY Festival, among others. We tell you all the details

Within the framework of the Cinematheque al Parque, an event that took place last Sunday, March 27, the District Institute of Arts (Idartes) announced the dates of the Festivals al Parque, forums, biennials and cycles that will be held in Bogotá during the rest of the year.

The official also announced that the next cultural and artistic event that will take place on the Bogotá stages will be Salsa al Parque, which will be held on June 4 and 5. This festival, as added by the official, will be followed by Hip Hop in the Park, which will take place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July.

On July 24 and 25, the La Media Torta Open Air Theatre will dedicate an exclusive space to the joropo, as they will open the doors to the Llanero Festival, an event with which they hope not only to bring together the Llanera community that resides in the capital of the country, but also the Venezuelan migrants who are also” lovers of the genre”.

This year's cultural program will also include the traditional Pink Cycle of the Bogotá Cinematheque, an audiovisual event that will take place from 2 to 12 July. In addition, according to the director of Idartes, for the first time Bogotá will host the international meeting of film commissions, Cineposium.

On September 1, 2 and 3, Bogotá will also host the 2nd International Dialogue Cultures in Common, a space designed to “dialogue, make visible and reflect on neighborhood and rural cultural expressions” in the capital. According to the director of Idartes, the event will feature Brazil as the guest country; Urabá as the guest region, while Ciudad Bolivar will be the host town.

On the other hand, on September 3rd and 4th, the capital will host the second edition of the Arte a la KY Festival, an initiative through which the District seeks to make artistic practices visible in the public space, while giving citizens a varied programme including circus workshops, dance, art, among others.

“In addition to the extensive artistic and cultural program offered by the city this year is the International Forum Breathe Art from September 26 to October 1, the Festival of Erotic Arts to be held from August 10 to 13 this year and between July 21 and August 7 , in the celebration of the city's birthday, the Bogotá Theater and Circus Festival, with programming on various stages of the city, with staging and theatrical assaults. A party for the whole family,” Idartes reported, adding that, on September 17 and 18, Jazzal Parque will take the stage of Bogotá.

For the month of October, the entity is scheduled for the first International Art Biennial for Early Childhood, while, between November 10 and 20, the Dance in the City Festival will hold its 15th edition. Among the offer of this initiative, there will be public dances, immersive experiences, among others.

Bogotá's artistic and cultural agenda will end the year with one of the most representative musical events in the city and the country: Rock in the Park. As a novelty, the event will be held this 2022 over two weekends, on November 26 and 27 and December 3 and 4.

“We are going to do it in a different month, a month of lights and Christmas celebrations. Rock al Parque will have four days of programming in Simón Bolívar Park, but also in other parts of the city, because we are going to have a cultural rock circuit, in bars and in various spaces in all localities,” explained the director of Idartes.
