Eugenio Derbez, a Mexican actor, was one of the compatriots who celebrated to the fullest during the most recent Oscar Awards, as the film CODA in which he participated won one of the most coveted statuettes.

The moment was spectacular. Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli presented the category of best film and after the videos, they excitedly opened the envelope with the name of the winning film. That was CODA, the film where he participated.

“Long live Mexico!!! , tonight the winner was inclusion. Long live the art of cinema. CODA has shown that history can always be made, even without big names or budget, but putting all our heart into it”, were the words he wrote in the next post.

But his words of encouragement, and his achievement as such, inspired many people to send him a big congratulation. Some have even accompanied him since the beginning of his career, or all his life.

“Congratulations dear Eugene!” , wrote journalist Adela Micha on her social networks, a personality that was even included in the actor's short clip to show how much she wanted to be part of the ceremony.

“Congratulations, dear @EugenioDerbez. Many years of struggle find their reward. And many more will come,” wrote, for example, the Mexican journalist León Krauze, who has a presence in US Hispanic news programs.

Omar Chaparro, one of his great friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry, joined with a strong message on Instagram: “You won, and this film and Mexico won.”

Surprising was the reaction of former footballer Rafael Márquez, who was even captain of the Mexican national team, and national team in five world championships: “Congratulations, Mexican pride,” he wrote on his official Twitter.

In this context, the National Team and the Mexican women's national team also joined. “Congratulations, keep telling stories to put the country on top!” and “Mexican talent and pride. Congratulations, countryman”, were his messages of support.

The referee Marco Antonio Rodríguez, the defender Carlos Salcedo, the LA Galaxy team or Javier Hernández El Chicharito were some of the sports personalities who joined.

Martha Carrillo, Ciro Gómez Leyva, Javier Poza and Martha Debayle did the same as journalists, while their family all participated: their son Vadhir Derbez and José Eduardo Derbez, as well as their daughter Aislinn Derbez, his wife Alessandra Rosaldo.

Vanessa Bauche, Mauricio Martínez, Lalo Spain, Montserrat Oliver, Raúl Molinar, Daniel Soza, Arlette Pacheco, Adrián Uribe, Alfonso Borbolla, Jorge Ulloa, Fernando Carsa and Consuelo Duval stood out in the congratulations of the artists who have supported Eugenio at this time and in various parts of his career.

Although CODA did not arrive as a favorite in the Best Film category, experts and film critics bet everything on it, pointing out the creative and talented production behind it.

Despite all odds, the film won the award in the Best Film category, but it was not the only one, as Frank Rossi also raised the statuette as the Best Supporting Actor, and Sian Heder for award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

In this film, the 60-year-old actor plays Bernardo Villalobos (Mr. V), a talented music teacher who plays the piano and motivates his student Ruby Ross, who is the daughter of deaf and dumb parents, to fulfill her dream of being a singer.
