On March 23, the Metropolitan Police of Santa Marta reported that a Military and Police Criminal Investigation Court imposed a security measure in a prison center against two patrol cars of the National Police. The uniformed men reportedly demanded money from a foreigner last year in exchange for not processing it.

According to RCN Radio, the members of the police being investigated were identified as: Martín José Gutiérrez Roca, 31, and Junior Ezequiel Collazos Morales, 28, attached to the Police Substation of the Minca district in the city of Santa Marta, Magdalena.

According to the preliminary investigation, the defendants have committed the crime of concussion in homogeneous competition, which, as mentioned in the penal code, is when: The public servant who abuses his position or functions constrains or induces someone to give or promise to the same servant or a third party, money or any other use undue, or requests them, shall incur imprisonment of six (6) to ten (10) years, a fine of fifty (50) to one hundred (100) statutory minimum monthly wages in force, and disqualification from the exercise of public rights and functions of five (5) to eight (8) years.”

The two policemen asked a foreigner for money to avoid a fine, because according to witnesses, the visitor would be committing unlawful acts on public roads. The institution stated that this type of capture strengthens the confidence that citizens have in police work.

One journalist was injured by protesters and another was arrested by the police on Women's Day in Medellin

In the capital of Antioquia, two journalists were affected while they were covering the demonstrations on the occasion of International Women's Day in that city.

The first case was that of one of Telemedellín's reporter Manuela Granda who was injured in the head after a blunt element fell on her, apparently, one of the people attending the marches. Cameraman Nelson Usquiano, who was working with her on the reports of the women's vindication event for the local news program, was even affected.

As they picked up on La FM, the journalist said that she was cornered with her colleague by seven women who were at the rally, when they were trying to get better images for the broadcast.

“They tried to remove the camera, he obviously didn't let himself, they started to struggle. At that moment, on the other hand, they started throwing objects, I felt that I fell like a kind of tin and they hit me on the top of my head, when I checked my wound I saw the blood and I was terribly scared, this had never happened to me doing journalism”, they highlighted on the radio medium of Granda's narration.

After the incident, and as evidenced in the video that moves on Twitter, the journalist was protected and attended by some officials of the Mayor's Office of Medellín.

The other fact, in contrast, was that of journalist Jennifer Giraldo, from Pacifista, who was arrested when she was recording what would be an assault on one of the protesters by members of the Mobile Anti-Riot Squad (Esmad).
